Communication engineering, or telecommunication engineering, is an important branch of electronic engineering (EE), but also a sub-major and basic subject of electronic information engineering. It focuses on information transmission during the communications and the principles and applications of signal processing. This major covers the knowledge about communication technologies, system and network, which can be applied to the research, design, manufacturing and operation in the communication sector, and the development and applications of communication technologies and equipment by various national economic departments and in the national defense industry.
