The renewable energy sector came along with the finding and applications of renewable energy. Renewable energy refers to those energy sources with great potential for being scaled up, which are or will be under way to develop, research and utilize, such as solar energy, geothermal energy, wind energy, biomass energy and nuclear fusion energy. This sector is an important indicator for how the high technology develops in a country or a region, and is the strategic priority in the new round of international competition. Besides, the developed world has taken the development of renewable energy as the key measure to upgrade technology and adjust industrial structure. At the same time, China introduced a series of supporting policies and put up with regional specialization and geographic concentration of industries for renewable energy planning and development. All this has resulted in the rapid development of the renewable energy sector in China.
